Preparation is the key to success, be it on the professional front or the personal one.

One of the first steps would be to research the company or the organization where you wish to apply.

It is vital to know the job description you are applying for.  Double-check to see if you have the requisite qualifications and experience.  That is one of the foremost things that any prospective employers would be looking at.

In the interview itself, respond in a calm, composed and confident manner.  Avoid rambling and stick to facts.  A positive attitude is always appreciated, so avoid negative statements of any kind.

Show enthusiasm and eagerness about the job and the organization, this will help to convey your willingness to work with the prospective employers.
