Red Hat Certification Interview Questions

Red Hat certification interview questions are the questions asked to an individual who is appearing for an interview in order to get certification from Red Hat. This interview is taken by individuals applying for the position of a junior or senior system administrator in a company which uses servers of Red Hat. The questions should be structured in such way so that it can analyze the knowledge of the individual about Linux systems. The questions should cover topics like network configuration, kernel configuration, administration of file system, package management and basic troubleshooting of system.

  1. Suppose you don’t know the root password, but you are in s=charge of a system. How will you change the root password to Red Hat?
  2. How would you boot your system in run level 5, if it is giving error?
  3. What command will you give to transfer a local file to a remote machine?
  4. Give an example of a journaling file system?
  5. If you had to find out what type of hardware is supported by Red Hat Linux, where would you look for it?
  6. How would you set a Hostname for a station and how would you search for the Host IP address?
  7. Do you know what are ip tables?
  8. What do you think are the difference between DROP and reject TARGETS in ip tables?
  9. In case you are using a system where important data are shared from your system and you are using the system for Network File services (NFS). How will you automatically start the NFS?
